35kV 600A Deadbreak Surge Arrester

The Richards Metal Oxide Varistor (MOV) 35kV 600A Surge Arrester is a deadbreak elbow that protects your system equipment from over voltages due to lightning strikes, faults and other occurrences. We offer arresters in two configurations: Elbow Arrester and R-Stack Arrester. The Elbow Arrester (pictured, right) can be connected either directly to a transformer or switchgear bushing — or, connected to a 35kV 600A Elbow with a Connecting Plug. The R-Stack Arrester, much like our Richards R-Stack (page MV10 of this catalog), combines two products into one, saving the customer money and time. Additionally, for the crews in the field, the R-Stack Arrester makes the installation more reliable, ergonomic, and easy. Finally, the R-Stack Arrester is factory tested as a solid unit — ensuring that the product is electrically sound and avoiding any possible interface contamination during installation.

Richards 35kV 600A Arresters have been designed and tested per the following industry standards:

  • ANSI/IEEE Std 386: For Separable Insulated Connector Systems
  • IEEE std C62.11: For Metal Oxide Surge Arrester for AC Power Circuits
